Print This Post Print This Post

For network installation, it is advised to open those ports required for communication in the firewall of each PC’s operating system.

The software application uses ports 3056 and 3057 for transmitting data. Mobile Access uses port 5222. Port opening methods may differ as per operating systems of given PCs.

Port opening for Windows XP:

The easiest way to access the Windows firewall is: go to Start / Control panel, then click on the Windows firewall icon. If you are in Category view, you can find the icon in the Security Center. In the presenting screen, click on the Exceptions tab, then click on Add Port. The port name is an arbitrary entry, while its number has to be: 3056, 3057, 5222 (to be recorded separately). The type has to be: TCP.

Port opening for Windows 7 and Vista:

The easiest way to access the Windows firewall is: go to Start / Control panel, then click on the Windows firewall icon. If you are in Category view, you can find the icon in System and Security. On the left, click on Advanced Options, then select Inbound Rules. New rules can be added on the right side, if you click on New rule. As of here, just follow instructions provided by the wizard:

» Indicate that you wish to add a port to exceptions.
» Specify the port type and port number (TCP; 3056, 3057, 5222).
» Permit the connection.
» Specify as to which profiles the new rule should apply (domain, personal, public).
» Specify the rule name (Key-Business).
